Criminal Justice at RU Programs of Study Additional Opportunities |
Below, you will find links that may help you in planning for a criminal justice career. Events * Each spring, the Department of Criminal Justice hosts a Career Advising Seminar. The 2008 seminar featured a presentation by Dr. Neil Hibler, who founded a company that conducts background and psychological evaluations for many criminal justice agencies. He spoke about preparing for employment in the criminal justice field. Specialized sessions were then held to present advice, strategies and tips for seeking employment in a variety of criminal justice fields, including: law enforcement; corrections; courts and legal careers; wildlife and environmental law enforcement; graduate school; and federal and state agency employment. Each attendee received a folder containing materials related to obtaining a career in criminal justice. Refreshments were provided by the Department of Criminal Justice in collaboration with the Criminal Justice Club. * Each spring, an annual Criminal Justice Career Fair is hosted by Lambda Alpha Epsilon. Agencies from around the Commonwealth and region attend, to discuss job opportunities within their agencies. The fair provides an excellent opportunity to network with criminal justice agencies and practitioners from the Mid-Atlantic region!
